I love all creatures, and the characters throughout Urban Magpie come from a fictional world built around that love.

The skunk on the front page is especially close to my heart. That little stomp carries a quiet tribute to Andrés, a beloved pinscher who stayed close to my heart for many years.

Real skunks do this as a warning sign before spraying. It is their way of saying: respect my space.

It is not aggression. It is confidence, communication, and healthy boundaries.

That idea says a lot about what Urban Magpie stands for: strength does not need to shout.
